Allen J. Moe is new to Open School for the 2005-2006 academic year. He
works with students, support staff, teachers, and school principal to
support student achievement and self-directed learning.
Prior to joining the staff at Open School, Allen worked in Human
Services for ten years. His work with at-risk youth where minor
delinquent behavior was involved gave parents, the community, schools,
police departments, and courts, an effective alternative to court.
These efforts provided an immediate intervention within the community
before problems became more severe.
In addition, Allen served as a Children’s Mental Health Case Manager.
In this role he assisted families in accessing services for their child
or adolescent. He helped children work with other mental health care
providers, educators, social workers, and the court system – on the
behalf of the child’s mental health needs. During this same time Allen
completed his Master of Social Work Degree at the University of
Minnesota. He participated in two-field placements, the first with St.
Paul Schools at Eastern Heights Elementary, and the second at Ramsey
County Child Protection.
Allen is excited to be on staff, and is looking forward to working with Open School families and students.
